The project is dedicated to developing an application for the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) in Nigeria (while working for a Tech Solutions Company)

Its primary objective is to enhance the efficiency and fairness of the consumer complaints process, ensure accessible pathways for all citizens to obtain safe products, resolutions between businesses and consumers and safeguard the rights of consumers across the country.

Problem Statement
  • Despite existing frameworks, consumers in Nigeria often face challenges in lodging complaints and seeking resolutions for disputes with businesses. The current system is plagued by inefficiencies, limited accessibility for underserved populations, and a lack of transparency in resolving consumer issues. This design solution is to provide an intuitive Application that is easy to use and satisfies the purpose of complaint resolutions situation undermines consumer trust and limits their ability to secure safe products and fair treatment.
  • There is a pressing need for a digital solution to address these gaps and uphold the rights of consumers nationwide.
Research Method
  • Stakeholder Interviews: Engaged with FCCPC officials, businesses, and consumers to understand pain points, priorities, and expectations.
  • User Surveys: Conducted surveys targeting diverse demographics to identify barriers to using existing complaint resolution systems.
  • Prototyping and Usability Testing: Developed and tested prototypes with end-users to refine features and user experience.
Findings
  • Inefficient Complaint Resolution Process: Consumers often reported delays in resolving disputes due to manual processes and lack of follow-up mechanisms.
  • Limited Accessibility: Rural populations and underserved demographics struggled with accessing existing services due to technological and linguistic barriers.
  • Need for User-Centric Design: Participants emphasized the importance of a simple, intuitive interface to ensure ease of use across varying levels of digital literacy.
