PETAD

This is a digitised pet adoption platform solution that streamlines the process of connecting pet owners with potential adopters.

The platform is meant to support both permanent adoption, where ownership is legally transferred to a new owner, and temporary adoption (fostering), where a pet is cared for by another individual for a specified period before returning to the original owner.

Problem Statement
  • Traditional pet adoption and fostering processes are often fragmented, time-consuming, and reliant on manual communication through social media, messaging apps, or paper-based applications.
  • Traditional pet adoption and fostering processes are often fragmented, time-consuming, and reliant on manual communication through social media, messaging apps, or paper-based applications.
Research Method
  • Gathered data on user preferences, common adoption challenges, and desired platform features.
  • Evaluated existing pet adoption platforms to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Mapped the current adoption process to uncover bottlenecks and opportunities for digitization.
Findings
  • Users found existing adoption processes to be slow, inconsistent, and lacking transparency regarding application progress.
  • Many participants relied on multiple communication channels (social media, phone calls, and messaging apps), resulting in fragmented conversations and missed updates.
  • Temporary fostering was identified as an underserved need, with few existing platforms providing structured support for short-term pet care arrangements.
